Competition Rules:

1. The contest is open to conductors born on or after January 1st, 1985
2. A maximum of 10 participants will be chosen from among all those registered.
3. The competition will be held in three rounds: PRELIMINARY (10 participants, Tuesday and Wednesday), SEMI-FINAL (6 participants) and FINAL (3 participants).
4. The members of the Bilbao Municipal Band will be responsible for voting for the six semi-finalists, following their performances on January 27th and 28th, 2026 (15 minutes each).
5. The semi-final and final of the competition will count as a jury both the vote of the president of the court, Alberto Roque, as well as the deliberation carried out by voting among the teachers of the Bilbao Municipal Band.
6. The semi-finals and final will be open to the public
7. The prize for the competition winner will be an invitation as guest conductor of the Bilbao Municipal Band for the 2026-2027 season. This invitation will include a monthly salary of 1,500 euros plus the costs of accommodation

Workshops:

• The three workshops scheduled for January 27th, 28th and 29th are open to all those persons interested in the world of conducting
• Workshops Registration fee: €100.
• The people selected for the contest will be able to attend the workshops free of charge.
• The registration form and the deposit receipt are to be submitted to Bilbao Musika by email (amaiabilbao@bilbaomusika.eus)
• Those participating in the workshops will receive a certificate of attendance upon their conclusion.

• Contest participation fee: 120 euros

• The persons selected to compete in the BILBAO MUSIKA INTERNATIONAL PRIZE FOR CONDUCTORS will be notified as of November 1th, 2025
